Gater Grapples’ new Model AP21B Orchard Tree Pruner is a mini excavator attachment designed to simplify the task of pruning fruit and nut trees. The unit consists of a boom, stick and cutting head that attaches to the bucket linkage on the excavator, extending the machine’s reach up to 25 feet high. The boom and stick are each hydraulically extendable, rotatable and offer a range of motion that will position the cutting head precisely where the operator intends to cut – while working above or below the branches. All work is controlled from inside the cab.

The three function cutting head includes a shear, chain saw and clamp with the capacity to handle up to 4 inch diameter wood. The clamp, located between the two cutting devices, secures the cut piece and helps prevent the saw from binding during the cut.

The AP21B is supplied with auxiliary controls for all functions.
